Driving around Washington DC can be hectic, add in the extra hassle of finding parking and you might find yourself pulling your hair out! It doesn’t matter if you are a resident of DC, or just visiting for a short period, navigating the DC Parking Zones is key to a successful parking experience.
For residents, view our DC Parking Zone map below to find the zone where you live. Once you understand which zone you live in, you can head over to the DMV and request a Residential Parking Pass (RPP) for that zone. If you are visiting or parking in a zone other than yours, the time limit is 2hrs, and you cannot just move your car to a new space within that zone. You can only park on the street for 2hrs within a zone.* You can find other parking options like garage parking, or metered parking.
Just to be clear, for street parking within any particular zone, you can only park up to two hours. Moving your vehicle to a different street within the same zone can result in getting a ticket.
